The Rancilio Rocky is by far the best coffee grinder available in its price range. The Rocky is equipped with the same motor and burr plates as Rancilio's Commercial MD40 Grinder.
The 166watt direct drive motor is very quiet and extremely powerful. It will not slow down even under the most demanding workload. The motor weighs 12 lbs. and spins at 1,725RPM. The Burr grinder assembly uses 50mm flat heat treated carbon steel plates designed to handle a constant commercial load.
This Rocky model is the upgraded stainless steel version which is constructed using a heavy-duty aluminum frame and commercial-quality stainless steel panels. The finish and design perfectly match any of Rancilio’s semi-pro line of espresso machines.
This model also has the upgraded dosing feature, which makes it especially well suited for use with espresso machines, since the hopper can dose out exact amounts of espresso to make single or double shots without using a scale.
The Rocky can be quickly and accurately adjusted using 55 different grind settings. The variable adjustment ranges from ultra fine Turkish grind, all the way to course grind for use in regular coffee machines or a French Press. An espresso grind can be quickly fine-tuned for that perfect 25 second pull. The portafilter forks can also be removed to use the grinder with larger containers.
Both the bean hopper and ground coffee container are tinted blue to prevent UV rays from penetrating and destroying the freshness of the coffee beans.
CONDITION: The grinder is less than 6 months old and has been used very little (less than 30 times). The grinder is in like new cosmetically and mechanically and will come clean and ready to use.
