This has been a great espresso machine. It does a pretty good job if you have a good grinder. It has the original pressurized basket as well as a double-shot regular basket, which I preferred to use. If you are just learning, you might start off with the pressurized one since tamp and grind won't matter quite as much. But, you will find you will get much better, and more authentic, shots using the standard basket. I have included a couple of pics of the thermoblock I took a couple of pics last week when I cleaned it. I had done a descale and just wanted to make sure it was fairly clean before selling. You never know how well people take care of these things when you buy them used. But, as you can see, this one is very clean. It still works well and I would expect it to last a good while longer if you descale on a regular basis. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Also, I can give you some tips on using it if you would like. But, there are a couple of good forums out there that I frequent that are really good learning tools. Youtube is chock full of videos for using it as well.
